Friends of Fetal Care Center
The Friends of the Fetal Care Center is a group of past families and current staff of the Fetal Care Center of Cincinnati. This group was developed when previous patients expressed a desire to assist in decreasing the level of isolation, stress and uncertainties that patients may experience.
Participants in the Friends of the Fetal Care Center hope to ensure that each patient / family is aware that they are not alone in their journey and others have experienced similar journeys before them. Knowing that several families must travel across the country and leave behind their support system, our group aspires to provide support and comfort items to the families, in addition to the psychosocial services provided by the Fetal Care Center Team.
Some of the activities the Friends of the Fetal Care Center are involved in include:
- Preparing care packages of comfort items for inpatients
- Creating a video and periodical library for patient use
- Organizing a team for Cincinnati Walks in order to raise awareness of the Fetal Care Center of Cincinnati and to assist in funding future projects
- Exhibiting information at conferences to spread awareness
- Providing opportunities for families to be involved with fundraising, both locally and nationally

Cincinnati Walks
Cincinnati Walks is an annual event organized by Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. The Friends of Fetal Care participates by organizing a team each year to help raise awareness of the Fetal Care Center of Cincinnati and to assist in funding future projects. Cincinnati Walks for Kids will be held this year on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at Coney Island. This event provides a great opportunity to meet other families who have been to the Fetal Care Center of Cincinnati.
Cincinnati Children's Champions Program
Cincinnati Children’s Champions Program is a great way for our patients and families to continue making a difference in the lives of others. As a Cincinnati Children's Champion, you may choose to:
- Give back to the medical center by simply sharing your story
- Inspire families who might be going through a difficult time
- Raise awareness about a disease or condition
- Meet other patients and families
- Help improve services at Cincinnati Children's
