Fetal Surgery Fellowship Training Curriculum
The curriculum of the 12 month Fetal / Pediatric Surgery rotation at the Fetal Care Center of Cincinnati is:
- During all the rotation the fellow will participate in the evaluation and counseling of all fetal patients
- The fellow will be expected to participate in all fetal surgical procedures and the post-operative care of fetal surgical mothers
- The fellow will be expected to present at each Fetal Care Center weekly conference and be an active participant in the discussions
- The fellow will be responsible for following the postnatal course of all patients referred to the Fetal Care Center of Cincinnati who are admitted to the Regional Center for Newborn Intensive Care / RCNIC
- The fellow will be expected to participate in ongoing research trials as part of the educational experience
- The fellow will be expected to complete a research project in some aspect of prenatal diagnosis, fetal treatment or fetal surgery; this project should be decided upon after consultation with the fellowship director and should be of sufficient quality that is worthy of publication in a peer-reviewed journal
