Patient Rooms
Although most conditions are best treated after the baby is born, some cases may require fetal surgery. The Fetal Surgery Unit is specifically designed for the mother undergoing fetal surgical procedures. To make this stay as comfortable as possible, our patient rooms have been fashioned like those an expectant mother would see in a birthing hospital, but equipped with intensive care monitoring capability.
Fetal Surgery Unit patient rooms are flooded with natural light and feature cherry furniture. Each room is equipped with conveniences such as a bathroom with a walk-in shower, as well as television with DVD player and VCR.
Helping the Fetal Care Center team monitor each patient is a maternal telemetry unit and fetal telemetry unit. These can track the heart beats of mother and baby, both while she is in bed or walking around the unit.
